Description

External quality assurance of the field and data collection phase of the German Health Interview and Examination Survey for Adults (DEGS).

Conduct of the external quality assurance of the field and data collection phase of the national health survey for adults BG08 (realised by the Robert Koch Institute/RKI).

Under the health monitoring programme on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Health the Robert Koch Institute conducts a national health survey for adults. The aim is to collect representative data on healthcare, frequency of certain illnesses, characteristics of diseases, risk factors, health status, health-related behaviour, and living conditions of adults who are resident in Germany and aged 18 and over.

For this purpose data is collected of 7500 individuals living in Germany (netto sample), independent of their nationality and listed in the residents" registration offices with their principal residence. The field phase is carried out by 2 parallel survey teams in approx. 180 survey sites within 36 months.

Since the results of this health survey for adults are of high relevance with regard to healthcare and science, the quality of data collection shall be accompanied by an external quality assurance (QA) carried out by the BIPS.
