GeM: Developing an intelligent health assistant for migrants
Description
- GeM is part of a BMBF funded project to establish a German Turkish Advanced Research Center (GT-ARC) which is conducted in close cooperation with the 'DAI-Labor' and the 'AOK-Bundesverband' in Berlin. The general objective of GeM is to develop a technology-based health assistant for the primary prevention of overweight and obesity among migrants.
Studies on migrant's health beliefs as well as their use and access to prevention programs are lacking. This is why analyses on this are of particular interest.
The main objectives of the part of the project to be conducted at BIPS can be described as follows:
(I) to prepare and conduct a demand analysis among Turkish migrants in Bremen in order to assess their expectations and needs for a technology-based health assistant as well as existing resources and barriers in use of prevention programs;
(II) to evaluate the development and implementation of the health assistant during the course of the project;
(III) consult with project partners concerning content.
